This fall I wanted some new coasters for under my soap and cream on the kitchen counter. I was happy to find a pattern for candy corn coasters and made some for Mum and some for Lorri and a couple for myself. :)

Back to School
These dishcloths got to go off to college this year, to a junior year, even though they've never left home before. The flamingo one was especially fun and I hope they wear out so I can do some more. :)

Onesies
These onesies are for friends expecting their first baby in September. Miss Language reminded me that the Dad loved elephants growing up so we included that pattern even though they are expecting a girl. I hope they enjoy them, I had fun making them.
Back to add, we had some additions to this gift. I made this pumpkin hat and love it!
Miss Language made this card but I did the origami onesie.
The babe has finally been born and the package is in the mail. :)

Washcloths
More washcloths. I like the textures on some of these.
The three on the right were knit on smaller needles than I usually use and are tighter. I think they'd be better for face cloths than for dishes. And the one on the left is a variation on the brick stitch I did. I hoped it would look like honeycomb but it didn't so much work.

Here is an old project I did around Christmas, in honor of Melrose, my little pink friend. I enjoy using it for school and Other Important Moments of Life.

Special Request
Mr Music had a birthday recently.I always ask the birthday-er what type cake they'd like. Mr Music was vague, but asked that I make it "something he's never had before.
*HaHa, evil laughter*. I could accomodate that.
Here's a picture of the batter ready to bake. At this point, I was not at all sure it was a good idea, but it sure had been fun thus far.

Here's what the end product looked like. By now, I knew this had, in fact, been a good idea. Mr Music was pleased. It will be interesting to see if this cake is requested again.

Package to a Pink Friend
I can post this now because it's been received... a tote bag for Miss Pink. Miss Pink had these favorite madras shorts, apparently, with almost nothing left intact, so they became the pockets, and the belt loops and button the fastener. You can't see the charming sea turtles lining the tote.
We also sent off these dishcloths for Miss Pink's dear mother who has been having nasty health problems. Don't ask me how I think dischloths will help her but somehow they seemed more shippable than a bunch of peonies. Prayers for her would be appreciated at this time.

New Dishcloths
I picked up a couple new patterns: the star stitch and the brick stitch (both at top). The brick stitch is fun and quick to do. The star stitch probably would be if I didn't knit so tight. :)

Bird Bag
I was happy to make this bag a few weeks ago from this pattern.
The bird was Miss Language's suggestion and I like it.
Time to Catch Up a Bit
Miss Language kindly took some photos for me. Here are the dishcloths I've done since the last time. I like the green ones.

Today's packet - I finished three cloths last weekend (lots of car time) - good thing - as two of them are in this bunch.

70 Years Plus
This blog is to be a place for me to record things I've made and done. I am starting by reminding myself that the important, the eternal thing I am about is being made by God for eternity.
CS Lewis, in Mere Christianity wrote: Christianity asserts that every individual human being is going to live for ever, and this must be either true or false. Now there are a good many things which would not be worth bothering about if I were going to live only seventy years, but which I had better bother about very seriously if I am going to live for ever. Perhaps my bad temper or my jealousy are gradually getting worse-so gradually that the increase in seventy years will not be very noticeable. But it might be absolute hell in a million years: in fact, if Christianity is true, Hell is the precisely correct technical term for what it would be. And immortality makes this other difference, which, by the by, has a connection with the difference between totalitarianism and democracy. If individuals live only seventy years, then a state, or a nation, or a civilisation, which may last for a thousand years, is more important than an individual. But if Christianity is true, then the individual is not only more important but incomparably more important, for he is everlasting and the life of a state or a civilisation, compared with his, is only a moment.
